Niche Market Blogger – Project Launch

Niche Market Blogger is a test to see whether I, or indeed anyone else, can really do what is proposed which is to blog your way to a reasonable income in, let's say, six months.

Here's the proof for starters that this site was launched on 1st April, 2009.  Okay, I know, it was installed on the last day of March but this is the first post.

Aprils 1st is April Fool's Day, I hear you say.  Yes, it is.  But it is also a challenge both to myself and the advocates of blogging that it should succeed either with or without the gods or the fools on my side.  It will, of course, depend entirely on my input and commitment so I might well come an awful personal cropper – and a very public one at that.

So here's the ground rules that I am starting with.  You obviously need to tilt the odds in your favour if you are to succeed with any enterprise.  So I have joined Jack Humphrey's Blog Success to gain access to an inside track of knowledge and blogging expertise.

I am also using the Semiologic blog package which I have used for various other affiliate marketing projects.  This is a powerful tool and indeed so powerful that I am still getting to grips with much of it's capabilities.  Semiologic is different from the Thesis theme recommended by Blog Success so it will be interesting to compare and contrast.

As we all know, we have 3 resources available to us; time, energy and money.  The objective here is to achieve the objective with minimum expenditure of money.  So after laying out on BlogSuccess and Semiologic I will be aiming that my remaining investment will be limited to my time and energy.

So to represent the average working person who is aiming to move into a blogging income in their spare time I will aim to spend 2 hours per day on this project.  There will inevitably be occasions when I am unable or even unwilling to do that but I think that would be a fair representation of the commitment available from someone with a wage-slave job.

There is no point in investing any time, energy or money in a project if you do not have a profit in mind.  So the intenetion will be to turn this into a membership site.  That means that the methods and techniques that I might discuss here will be loaded into areas that I can subsequently turn into a membership area.

Frankly, I've no idea how to do that right now but that's part of the challenge.  Can I learn all these things and implement them all as I go along?
